April Trip 2018

Our April trip this year will be a one day visit to Dundee and will be held on Saturday 28th April.

We will depart at 8:45 am and arrive at the Verdant Works where we will learn the story of  Dundee’s industrial textile heritage and the lives of people who worked in it. A soup and sandwich lunch will be provided in the Weavers Room.

After lunch the coach will take us to Discovery Point, where we will visit the ship which took Scott and Shackleton south to the Antarctic for the first time, and to see the excellent exhibition which tells the dramatic story. Many members will remember our talk in September 2015 by Paula Williams, “Scott’s Last Expedition – the Men Who Came Back” which proved so fascinating.

Finally, we will stop at The Lomond Hills Hotel in Freuchie for high tea.

The cost of the trip will be £43 per person which covers travel, entry to each venue, lunch and high tea.

Letters will be available at the AGM on 15th February and completed forms with payment should be returned at the March or April meetings or directly to the Treasurer. Full details will be available on the letter.
