In “Just A Laddie Frae Glamis?“, our chairman, George Robertson, tells the story of David Mortimer, who emigrated from Scotland to the USA in the middle of the 19th Century. He fought in the US Civil War and encountered some of the most famous, or infamous, men of the times. His particular story is a fascinating example of the adventurous life experienced by so many emigrees to the USA.
