Portmoak Community Woodland

by Jeff Gunnell and Michael McGinnes

Find out how Porkmoak Moss came into being 8000 years ago, how it was nearly destroyed in the 1960s and how the local community fought hard to repair it. Now recognised as a prime example of peatland restoration where many fine examples of flora and fauna thrive.

This is the last talk of the season, refreshments and home baking will be available from 6:30.

£2 entrance fee for non-members.
