Next Meeting May 2025 “The Manx Beauty”

In our last meeting of the season, Richard Wemyss will present “The Manx Beauty Project – 88 years of Stories”,
The Manx Beauty is a ring net fishing vessel built in Cellardyke in 1937 for the Isle of Man Government, it has multiple historical significances through its design, it’s war service and others which include the stories of the people who worked her. The project Cellardyke Trust have been developing uses the vessel as a catalyst for heritage skills development, music and theatre projects and supporting and developing community. The talk will lead you through the history, the current plans and the proposed use for the vessel in the future.
Richard is an artist, originally from Cellardyke, who has a deep interest in Fife’s maritime and fishing history.
The meeting starts at 7:30pm in the Abbey Church Halls, Dunfermline and as always, visitors will be made most welcome.
