Fairs Fetes and Festivals

Friday 27 October

The Scottish Local History Forum hold a conference and AGM in the Soutar Theatre in the A K Bell Library, Perth.

How did people in Scotland in the past enjoy their leisure time? How did these traditions start? Why have some of these events continued to the present day and others are long forgotten? The conference will explore these questions with a series of talks across the day.

The morning session consists of four presentations on Galas and Bazaars.

Lunch is followed by the AGM, from 12:50 to 13:15.

The afternoon session includes three presentations on Festivals and Fairs.

Tickets cost £20 for members, £25 for non-members plus an optional sandwich lunch £12 and are available on line at www.slhf.org
